Maine veterans need your support. The obstacles many face reintegrating into the civilian workforce after military service are challenges that you can help them overcome. After all, duty, loyalty and service to country are words that should carry weight with all Maine citizens, not just those who defend our nation.Donate Now Jobs Now for Maine Vets is a private sector response to the problem of unemployed veterans. Clearly state and federal efforts are not enough, because veteran unemployment continues to remain far higher than civilian unemployment rates. And the problem is getting worse, particularly among young veterans under the age of 30 who are returning from current conflicts. Your charitable donation will help ensure that Maine veterans have access to the M.O.S.T.® fast-track intensive training program. This program, which was developed under a pilot grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, has proven to be a model program for training unemployed workers for current job openings in the manufacturing sector. The M.O.S.T.® program's advantage over traditional workforce training programs is that it first identifies job vacancies at manufacturers before customizing its training program so that trainees complete the intensive program ready to step into jobs on the manufacturing floor. This responsiveness to employers' needs, coupled with quick customization and state-of-the-art mobile classrooms, enables M.O.S.T.® to train workers rapidly whenever and wherever job vacancies occur. We believe Maine veterans deserve the advantages of this rapid training program that has proved to be so successful in other states. Learn more about the program that’s changing lives.
